I was a prominent rock-climber in Tasmania in the early 1970s, establishing many significant new routes. My partnership with Ian Lewis broke new ground in climbing grades and Ian went on to establish some of the hardest climbs in Australia at the time.
I was a key member of the 1988 Australian Bicentennial Antarctic Expedition which made the first ascent of Mt Minto, the highest peak in the Admiralty Mountains and one of the continent's highest mountains. I have climbed on K2 and on multiple expeditions to Greenland in the 1990s and 2000s.
These stories and articles present my personal views of my experiences of climbing and the world surrounding it - including a few too many brushes with gravity.
