Climbing Glass
I was a prominent Australian rock-climber in the early 1970s, establishing many significant new routes. My partnership with Ian Lewis broke new ground in climbing grades and Ian went on to establish some of the hardest climbs in Australia at the time. I was a member of the 1988 Australian Bicentennial Antarctic Expedition which made the first ascent of Mt Minto, the highest peak in the Admiralty Mountains and one of the continent's highest mountains. I climbed on K2 in 1990 and on multiple expeditions to Greenland in the '90s and '00s. These stories and articles present my personal views of my experiences of climbing and the world surrounding it - including a few too many brushes with gravity.
