He sets out on a relaxed skiing adventure in Greenland in 1994, but when his friend is injured and airlifted out, he has to ski on alone, unable to contact the outside world in the era before satellite phones and personal safety beacons.
He faces the dangers of storms, crevasses, polar bears and the freezing waters of the polar ocean, wondering if the girl he left behind will be there when he gets home.
